FL solar tax credits & incentives
FL solar tax credits & incentives

When you install solar in Florida you may qualify for these cost savings:

  • Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You’ll get this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2032.
  • FL property tax exemption. Solar panels can raise your property value and taxes. This 100% exemption of added property value prevents you from paying higher taxes because of your solar system.
  • Sales tax exemption. Solar energy systems are exempt from FL sales and use tax.
  • Net metering. Get a monthly credit for extra energy generated by your solar panels. Cash in these credits to reduce your utility bill.
Trinity does not guarantee eligibility for, or the amount of, tax credits, tax exemptions, renewable energy credits, or other state and federal incentive programs. Homeowners should consult a tax professional for personalized advice and to determine their specific eligibility for any tax incentives.
Clean energy goals
Florida set statewide renewable energy goals in 2022. These include 40% renewable energy by 2030, and 100% renewable energy by 2050. Florida doesn’t yet have a statewide renewable portfolio standard (RPS) that requires utilities to generate a set amount of electricity from renewable sources. But FL utilities do have individual energy efficiency goals set by the Florida Public Service Commission.
