PA solar tax credits & incentives
PA solar tax credits & incentives

When you install solar in Pennsylvania, you may qualify for these cost savings:

  • Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You’ll get this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2032.
  • Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) that solar owners can either cash out or use to offset their utility bills.
  • Net metering. Get a monthly credit for extra energy generated by your solar panels. Cash in these credits to reduce your utility bill.
Trinity does not guarantee eligibility for, or the amount of, tax credits, tax exemptions, renewable energy credits, or other state and federal incentive programs. Homeowners should consult a tax professional for personalized advice and to determine their specific eligibility for any tax incentives.
Clean energy goals
Pennsylvania’s Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS) requires 18% alternative energy compliance as of 2020. The state’s greenhouse gas reduction goals are 26% by 2025 and 80% by 2050.
