NH solar tax credits & incentives
NH solar tax credits & incentives

When you install solar in New Hampshire, you may qualify for these cost savings:

  • Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You’ll get this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2032.
  • Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) that solar owners can either cash out or use to offset their utility bills.
  • NH property tax exemption. Solar panels can raise your property value and taxes. Some NH cities offer an exemption from local property taxes for the assessed value of a solar system.
  • Net metering. Get a monthly credit for extra energy generated by your solar panels. Cash in these credits to reduce your utility bill.
Trinity does not guarantee eligibility for, or the amount of, tax credits, tax exemptions, renewable energy credits, or other state and federal incentive programs. Homeowners should consult a tax professional for personalized advice and to determine their specific eligibility for any tax incentives.
Clean energy goals
New Hampshire's renewable portfolio standard (RPS) requires 25.2% of energy to come from renewables by 2025 and beyond.
