  • Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You may be eligible for this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2032.
  • Residential energy credit of up to $1000 toward your state income tax bill.
  • MA property tax exemption. Solar panels can raise your property value and taxes. Get 100% exemption from added property tax for 20 years if system capacity is lower than 25 kW.
  • Sales tax exemption. Solar energy systems are exempt from MA sales and use tax.
